As you might know, I am the creator of GG-Tracker. It’s a piece of software that has the capability to track a cellphone with or without GPS. Besides the location it also does some calculation on speed and direction.
Since my girlfriend was watching yet another soap I was playing around with the data I gathered over the years and tried to determine my fastest speed on land ever. The answer was quickly found, only then I thought: “This can’t be true, there’s not even a road here!”.
Doubting my own software I looked further and then I discovered it was a railway… Trains do go faster then cars in the traffic jamned country ;) My highest recorded speed on land was 143 km/h, 31st of January 2008, the location? The Netherlands, between Delft and Rotterdam.
